Review:
First I need to talk cover lover here. The picture does it no justice. The cover is so simple yet so beautiful in person. With the simple images of the trees and moon its speech volumes. And its shiny. Im a sucker for things shiny lol. As well as the beautiful cover, I just love how the author has made the "moon" look throughout the book. Its always red. It just just really stands out.Onto the story review.
Low Red Moon was a story that sucked me in from the first line.
"I was covered in blood when the police found me"
What an opening line to a story. It really grabs your attaction and makes you excited to to find out more.
Low Red Moon is a very short book and easy to read. It follow Avery and she is trying to remember what happened to her parents as she can't remember anything from that awful night when they were murder. Avery seems like a really nice girl, who is dealing with the grief of losing her parents, her world, everything. She is a brave girl who even though is afraid to have the truth uncovered she doesn't shy away from it and knows she needs to remember. When she meets Ben she starts to remember bits and pieces. Ben is a likable character. He isn't overly confident like most males in YA novels, he is a proper nice guy is falls in love with Avery from the moment he sees her.
What I loved most about this book was the mystery. We only get glimpses for what happen the night of murder and honestly I didn't release who the killer was until a page before it was revealed. It was a twist I really didn't expect and it actually gasped in shocked.
However, even though I really enjoyed this novel. I have to mark it down a heart before there are a few parts of the story that has been taken from twilight. Near enough word for word.
Overall, if you are looking for a quick enjoyable read that will have you at the edge of seat then this is the book for you. Packed with Mystery, and a little romance it is real page turner. Hope there is a sequel.
